About This Role
We are seeking a Django Developer to join our India-based remote development team. You will deliver scalable backend services and APIs using Django and Django REST Framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship reliable features for international clients.
Role overview
You’ll work on backend services that power client projects end-to-end: clean APIs, reliable background processing, and well-structured data models. We’re a remote-first team, so clear communication and solid engineering habits matter as much as raw output.
What you’ll work on
- Building and evolving REST APIs using Django REST Framework
- Designing data models, migrations, and query patterns for performance
- Asynchronous workflows (queues, scheduled jobs) and operational reliability
- Test coverage and CI-friendly development (unit + integration)

Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional experience building web applications
- Strong Python and Django experience (Django 3/4 preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Django REST Framework and building RESTful APIs
- Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design
- Familiarity with Celery/Redis for background processing and task queues
- Experience writing tests (pytest, unittest) and working in CI pipelines
- Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, OWASP basics)
- Good knowledge of Git and collaborative workflows (PR reviews)
- Exposure to Docker and cloud deployments is a plus
- Strong English communication skills for international collaboration
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Django applications and RESTful APIs
- Build and integrate services using Django REST Framework
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations
- Implement background tasks, scheduled jobs, and async workflows (Celery)
- Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews
- Improve performance, observability, and reliability of services
- Collaborate with frontend developers and designers on product delivery
- Work with international teams and clients across different time zones
- Document implementations and contribute to engineering standards
