About This Role
We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer to join our India-based remote development team. You will build and maintain production-grade web applications for international clients, focusing on clean architecture, performance, reliability, and well-tested code.
Role overview
You’ll ship production features in Ruby on Rails for international clients. The focus is on clean architecture, reliable background processing, and well-tested changes that are easy to maintain.
What you’ll work on
- Rails 6/7 application development (features, refactors, upgrades)
- REST APIs and integrations with third‑party services
- Background jobs and async workflows (e.g., Sidekiq)
- Performance work: query tuning, caching, and observability
What success looks like
- You can take a feature from requirements to deployment with minimal supervision
- You write tests that prevent regressions and make future changes safer
- You communicate clearly in PRs and keep changes scoped and reviewable
Interview process

Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional experience building web applications
- Strong Ruby and Ruby on Rails experience (Rails 6/7 preferred)
- Solid understanding of MVC, REST APIs, and background jobs
- Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design
- Familiarity with Redis, Sidekiq, and caching strategies
- Experience writing tests (RSpec, Minitest) and working in CI pipelines
- Good knowledge of Git and collaborative workflows (PR reviews)
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and modern frontend basics (Hotwire/Turbo is a plus)
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and payment providers is a plus
- Strong English communication skills for international collaboration
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications and RESTful APIs
- Implement new features end-to-end with a focus on quality and maintainability
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations
- Build background jobs and asynchronous workflows (e.g., Sidekiq)
- Write unit, integration, and system tests; participate in code reviews
- Monitor and improve performance, security, and reliability of services
- Collaborate with designers and frontend developers for polished UX
- Work with international teams and clients across different time zones
- Document technical decisions and contribute to engineering standards
